Murkomen Criticises Natembeya's Decision to Enter Politics

“I want to plead with you the people of Trans Nzoia, please don’t make a mistake of electing Natembeya. If you make that mistake, I can assure you, you will have to kneel before him to get county services,” Murkomen Stated  while in Trans Nzoia County on Monday, January 3.

In a twisted turns, George Natembeya defended himself by retaining his interest in the gubernatorial role notwithstanding the political discussions.

According to online sources privy to this publication,  Natembeya has confirmed his commitment to run for Trans-Nzoia's gubernatorial seat in August polls.

In an interview in a local Tv station in the country on Wednesday 26th, he urged Elgeyo Markawet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen to respect his decision to enter into politics and each one of them to concentrate on their own work.

“I have been in government for 26 years, Murkomen has been a politician for 10. He has nothing to tell me about government so wacha tuheshimiane tu, yeye afanye kazi yake na mimi nifanye yangu,” Natembeya stated.

Natembeya added that most politicians have a habit of combining politics with their perceived opponents' personal life in order to prevent aspiring politicians from reaching their full potential when contesting for the various positions in the country.

"Murkomen’s mouth has been a blessing to me, he basically made me and I would like him to come to Trans- Nzoia and say what he has been speaking. The more he paces his mouth the more people love me,” he remarked.

“I have also had run ins with Kamket because of cattle rustling cases and every time they report to the DCI they say that it is Natembeya who has done it. People are just obsessed with me because of the freshness I bring to leadership and also because Kenyans are listening to me,” he added.

Natembeya has urged young aspiring politicians and women leaders to contest for elective positions without having to worry about the powerful politicians who may prevent them from reaching their potential.

Natembeya also remarked that he wants to focus on Transnzoia county leadership which he believes is weak in the region and for this reason he has been prompted to leave his post as the Rift-valley Regional Commander in order to enhance the county's leadership to the next level.

“What is lacking in Trans Nzoia is focused leadership and that is why I have sacrificed all the luxuries. I know if I had I stayed where I was any incoming government would have actually promoted me to PS or CS. That would have been about me getting promoted but this time round it is not about me but the people of Trans Nzoia,” he said.

As a result, Natembeya expressed that based on his background as a police officer he will secure an advantage in his gubernatorial campaign in Transnzoia county.
