Many major changes have been observed in the app months after the new Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, completed the acquisition of the company, the most recent being a change in the number of followers that Twitter users have.

Taking to his Twitter account, Elon Musk revealed that the Twitter team was working on the removal of scam/ spam accounts. He also noted that the process would impact the number of Twitter followers that the various Twitter users had.

"Twitter is purging a lot of spam/scam accounts right now, so you may see your follower count drop," Musk stated.

This is among the major changes being witnessed in the company. On acquisition of the company, the Twitter boss began by firing a number of workers including CEO Parag Agrawal and other staff in the company.

In November, Musk also fired employees who criticized him either on the social network or in its internal Slack messaging system via an email.

Taking to the micro-blogging website, several employees confirmed the layoff on their verified accounts. One employee even shared a screenshot of the mail he received from Twitter HR, stating that their "recent behaviors violated company policy".

Recently, Elon Musk rolled out the new Twitter Blue with verification, and one unsaid feature is that it will let you see who is paying the $8 per month fee for their blue check mark. the 'Official' badge to Twitter users which government accounts, commercial companies, business partners, major media outlets, publishers, and public figures will now have it.

“Not all previously verified accounts will get the ‘Official’ label and the label is not available for purchase,” the product manager Esther Crawford stated in a Tweet.

“Accounts that will receive it include government accounts, commercial companies, business partners, major media outlets, publishers, and some public figures,” he added.
