Construction of the JKIA Terminal Underway

Transport Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen has said that plans for construction of a modernized terminal at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

He made these announcements during the swearing in of the newly-appointed Kenya Aways Authorities Board of Directors.

Murkomen said that it was necessary to work on private-public partnership model. This would facilitate the expansion of JKIA to include a new runway and terminal to increase its capacity. 

This move is expected to handle more planes and passangers and also create employment opportunities  It will also boost tourism, increase trade and investments and enhance regional intergration. 

Murkomen has enhanced the new appointees to seal leakages in revenues and act according to the KAA Act.1991.
