VIDEO: Vehicle Runs Into Supporters During a Campaign Rally in Nyamira County

In a video that has surfaced online, a vehicle was seen running into supporters during a campaign rally which was conducted by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi in Nyaramba, Nyamira County.

The Land Cruiser vehicle ran over two supporters on a motorcycle next to the car from which Momanyi was addressing the crowd.

The speeding vehicle tossed the rider and the pillion passenger, who was holding a crutch, into the air before landing on Murram Road.

However, the MP was completely unaware of what was going on just a few meters away and continued with his campaign speech until a section of the audience began screaming in disbelief.

"We should ensure that the old men go home. Somebody help them, I will have a look at them in a short while. Ask the doctor to come and assess our brother here," Borabu MP stated.

The vehicle then reversed to free the man from the underside. The supporters were moved to safety with the assistance of the security detail, with the pillion passenger limping and holding his back.

The accident sparked debate on social media, with netizens questioning the safety of Kenyans attending political rallies and whether candidates truly cared about their supporters' well-being. Others blamed the incident on mechanical failure.

"Gosh! Na anaendelea kuongea like nothing happened," read a comment.

"Wow! Not even a concern shown or even bothered that one of his supporters might have been run over, this here tells a huge story," read another comment.

Kenyans have now been urged to be more careful with the campaign rallies that are been conducted widely across the country.
