OKA is Wrong: Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.

The One Kenya Alliance had written to the registrar of political parties requesting that the Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition party's registration be halted.

OKA leaders Musyoka, Gideon Moi of KANU, and Cyrus Jirongo of the United Democratic Party - UDP have presented three points that they believe have been secretly changed and do not reflect what the alliance signed.

“It is apparent that the Agreement lodged on the 1st April 2022 was withdrawn and certain clauses amended or altered without the consent of all the parties and signatories," read part of statement.

"Our objection is premised on the fact that three (3) issues have not been agreed upon and are to be deliberated and agreed upon before the Agreement is fully registered, these are as follows: -The number of caucuses; these had been agreed as three (3) on 1st April 2022 and presented as four (4) on the 9th April 2022," the statement added.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Maendeleo Chap Chap party chairman claimed that the alliance was causing exclusivity through its demands rather than uniting Kenyans.

“I’m therefore surprised that OKA are talking about inclusivity on one hand but advocating for exclusion of over 20 political parties who signed up to form Azimio.” The Machakos governor said.

"I would strongly encourage OKA and all of our Azimio partners to be more accommodating, not only to Mwanzo Mpya as the fourth leg, but to any other political party that desires to join Azimio." We must not lose sight of the fact that we want to win, and politics is all about numbers.
