“Kenyans are not stupid. They know very well that I am not in government. I don't earn a salary, I don't live in a government house and I don't get any allowance from the government.”

Odinga also added that when he enters the government he will reduce Kenya's cost of living within the first 100 days by channeling more funds to programs that will see a reduction in the prices of basic commodities.

"We will look at the budget and make some adjustments in terms of expenditure both recurrent and development so that we can feed the people.

Raila went on to say that his government will engage with local and foreign companies that supply the products to devise a cost-cutting strategy that would see them subsidize some of the costs while remaining in business.

In addition, he also emphasized that his government would also oversee the implementation of initiatives that would offer employment opportunities that will boost the purchasing power of Kenyans.

On the other hand the former prime Mister`s running mate Marthat Karua backed him up saying Azimio as a party isn't able to do anything since it's not in government.

"Azimio is not in the government, but it is true that there is a relationship between Raila and Uhuru. We are not able to do anything - all we can do is maybe Raila to speak to the President, but at the moment we are not privy to the on-goings of the government," she stated.
