Man U 2-0 Man City Ending Man City's 21 Successive Victories
Manchester United won the derby on Sunday 7th March 2021 afternoon after Rashford and Shaw scored securing a 2-0 win against Manchester City.
Manchester United gained bragging rights after ending Manchester city's 21 winning Match run in all competitions and 28 match unbeaten run after beating them 2-0.
Man U went into the game with low energy as they had failed to score in their 3 previous games but interestingly were awarded a penalty inside the first minute after Anthony Martial was felled in the box by Gabriel Jesus.
Bruno Fernandes scored the penalty dispatching a strong shot that became a first goal for united dominating the match until the first half was complete. In the 2nd half Luke Shaw who had earlier missed a chance to double United's lead led a counter attack exchanging passes with Marcus Rashford before beating Ederson with a low shot.
This game made Man u to move back into second place a point ahead of Leicester City in the increasing fight for a place in the top four.
Man U have now gone 22 league away games unbeaten including 14 wins.
