How Mandago Wants ‘Hustlers’ to Pray For Ruto Ahead Of 2022

According to Mandago, God is busy handling many issues and it would be good that Ruto’s supporters focus on short prayers to allow him to address other issues.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has advised Deputy President William Ruto’s supporters – usually referred to as hustlers – on how they should be making their prayers from now going into the 2022 general elections.

In a video doing rounds on social media, the governor is seen advising ‘hustlers’ to avoid making long prayers – and instead focus on short-and-to-the-point prayers.

According to Mandago, God is busy handling many issues and it would be good that Ruto’s supporters focus on short prayers to allow him to address other issues.

“Maombi ile tunazidisha tu kaunti hii kidogo ni ile ya kuombea William Ruto akue rais. Na usisumbue Mungu na maombi marefu, Mungu ako very busy. Unaona kule Taliban wanaua watu Afghanistan, lazima upatie Mungu nafasi ashughulikie hao watu wa Afghanistan. Kwa hivyo, omba maombi tu fupi ya kusema Mungu tunakuomba kwa baraka yako uwezeshe naibu ya rais akue rais 2022,” the vocal governor said in Swahili.

This is loosely translated to: “The prayers we want to make in this county is for William Ruto to be President. Don’t disturb God with long prayers, He is very busy. You see Taliban are killing people in Afghanistan so you have to allow God to also address Afghanis issues by making short prayers of saying God help the deputy president to be president in 2022.”

The governor who is a close ally of the DP further said should there be a need to make the prayer longer, then it should focus on asking God to make those that will lose the 2022 polls accept results for the peace of the country.

Ruto is considered a front runner in the 2022 polls expected to be held in August.
