A major boost to 62 farmer groups after the Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project (KCSAP) gave them agricultural inputs and financial grants worth over Ksh. 37 million.

The support consisted of; 97 dairy goats valued at Ksh.1.6 million, 11,000 day old chicks for 110 farmers groups, and 78,130 doses of veterinary vaccines.

While presenting the inputs at the county offices, Kericho Governor Prof.Paul Kiprono Chepkwony, flanked by top government officials, urged farmers to utilize extension services from the County technical staff in implementing their various farming activities.

‘’ I urge the farmers present here to utilize and maximize the support from KCSAP and the services that the County technical staff are providing for your benefit and your economic growth,” said Chepkwony

To date, KCSAP in Kericho has disbursed a total of Ksh. 194.2 million to 336 farmer groups towards the development of alternative sources of livelihoods to diversify income bases for the rural population. This has also enabled farmers to carry out their activities in their residences to improve their livelihoods.
