One of the area’s tenants said that the watchman's body was discovered in the parking area underneath a parked truck.

He indicated that the body bore signs of a struggle and appeared to have been struck with a blunt object by the unidentified thugs.

“It seems they fought before he was killed, his trouser had marks of mud, an indication of a struggle,” he said.

It is suspected that the perpetrators were eying some valuables thought to be in a Posta parcel delivery van that was parked next to the lorry.

“Maybe they had information that the van had some valuables in it, however, there was nothing inside,” he said.

The tenant added that the estate hired two guards for security duties, one of whom was posted at the gate and the other who made rounds within.

Police were called to the scene, they picked up the body and are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, the body of the victim was transferred to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation.
