TSC Goes Digital in All Its Communications

TSC stated that the move was part of the commission's aim of abandoning the operation that involves physical handling of papers, which has been a hectic job for the commission.

The Teachers' Service Commission has announced its departure from the analog system of operation to digital. As a result, the Teachers' employer will now be recruiting, promoting, and transferring its members online.

Announcing the move, TSC maintained that starting March, all applications will be undertaken digitally, with the body also announcing promotions and transfers digitally.

TSC Boss Ms. Nancy Macharia through a circular to all teachers made it clear that any future promotions, recruitments, and transfers will be done online.

Further, any communication between the teachers and the employer will also be through staff emails, with anything not send through the website past the end of April being left unattended.

Following the announcement, teachers have until the end of April to ensure that their staff emails are active, as that will be the only communication mode.

"The exercise of activating the emails takes effect from February 15 and will close April 30, 2021," stated Dr. Macharia.

The platform will be used in passing official communications, payslips, circulars, and responses to any queries by the teachers.

It will be applicable for both TSC employees and those teaching on an internship basis. Apart from the individual staff emails, school heads will be required to create a school email address for communications between the TSC and the school.

Dr. Macharia noted that the decision was a step by the commission to navigate from the manual way of operation.
