Sorry State of Pwani Primary School Ignites Mixed Reactions Online
Kenyans on twitter are now urging the Education Cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu to take a look into the sorry state of the Pwani Child Survival School which is located in Majengo slum.
This is after viral photos and videos showing classrooms without doors, dirty toilets, walls and garbage littered all over the compound indicating that the school is pooly managed trended online.
From the photos, pooly and filthy looking washrooms cam ebe seen indicating how badly the school is managed. This ahs ignited mixed reaction among concerned parents and guardians on the health conditions of the pupils in that school.
The school is managed by a community led by a Board of Management (BOM). It is also not funded by either the government or Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) where it charges KSh 1,800 per term per student.It is believed that many families struggle to raise the amount to carter for their children.
The school accomodates many students from slums, living below the poverty line.
According to Honorable Moses Okoth who is also ayouth leader stated that due to teh dilapilated situation of teh school he had echoed in the condition to relevant authorites for favourable measures to be taken.
"The situation at Pumwani Primary is inhuman and unhealthy,the school conditions should be improved.I have Shared my thoughts with the governor of Nairobi Johnstone Sakaja regarding this disturbing situation at Pumwani".

Recently, in 2022 barely two months ago many families became a victim to it when the case was highlighted, we hoped to see a long lasting sustainable change in the whole community.
