According to Mwaura he stated that there was a masculinity crisis in Kenya that had contributed to the violence witnessed in a number of political rallies.

"We have empowered girls, however, they lack men to match their stature and we now need to do something about the boychild." He noted.

He added that jobless young people are wrongly used by politicians to cause chaos in Kenya.

“They have lost hope. Our economic system has produced poor and desperate people. We have empowered girls, then they do not have men who would match their stature, so we need to do something about the boy child,” Mwaura said on Citizen TV daybreak show.

He also added that due to the increased economy the young men hung on political vehicles whenever they go to rallies to be given handouts.

“People hang on vehicles when we go for campaigns, just waiting for the candidate to give them Ksh 100 or 200. They are risking their lives.”

“If all those people were employed, very few would be attending rallies.”

The words follow a fight between Kenya Kwanza and Azimio supporters on Sunday at the Jacaranda grounds.

The location descended into chaos following a double booking for a Kenya Kwanza rally and that of Embakaai East MP Babu Owino.
