Police Officer Shot Dead By Robber in Kisumu
A suspected thug shot and killed a police policeman early on Friday morning in Nyakach, Kisumu county.

The DCI officer was a member of a Kisumu-based team sent out to find the suspect after receiving a tip.
According to a police report obtained the suspect was in a rental home in Pap Onditi, Kisumu.
Three DCI officers and other officers from Nyakach set up an ambush to arrest the suspect, who was allegedly responsible for a string of robberies in the counties of Kisumu, Homabay, and Migori.
However, it's claimed that the guy began firing randomly at the police and the encounter resulted in the injuries of two officers.
"The officers engaged with the suspect in a shootout but he managed to escape with gunshot wounds," the report read.
One was shot in the leg and chest, while the other was shot in the left hand. The injured policemen were admitted to Kisumu's Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH)and are in stable condition.
The dead officer's body was taken to the hospital morgue pending an autopsy while police continue to search for the suspect.
