According to Robert, his ex-wife Edna Nabalayo whom he separated with is linked to Wanjala`s wired behaviors.

Robert added that before his son died, he disclosed that his own mother was the one who initiated him into the practice of killing and drinking children’s blood.

“Aliniambia baba, mama yangu ndio aliniingiza kwa hii maneno, wewe naomba tu msamaha, unisamehe pamoja na mama,” said Robert Wanjala.

He also added that he blamed his wife for Masten`s behaviors since he wasn’t present in his son`s life.

“My wife, Edna Nabalayo, whom I separated from when she was three months pregnant with Masten, returned the child to me when he was 16 years old. He was already too grown to be taught new ways,” he said.

Masten Wanjala was charged with 13 counts of murder, all of which were committed against kids in Nairobi, Bungoma, and Kajiado counties.

The self-confessed child serial killer returned home in Bungoma county after escaping from Jogoo Road Police Station where he had been detained as police conducted investigations before he could arraign him in court only to be lynched by an irate mob that cornered him on October 15th.

Robert, on the other hand, stated that ever since his son was killed by an angry mob he hasn’t spoken to his wife.

“I’m yet to speak with Edna since our son’s lynching,” he said.

This comes after the late killer`s death is surrounded by mysteries as the Bukusu community insists on performing some rites wanjala`s body before being laid to rest.

“I fear that a bad omen could befall my family if my son is not buried in a timely manner according to Bukusu rituals. Masten died with a cloud of crime hanging over his head,” said Robert.

Robert further added: “Traditions do not allow Masten to be brought to my homestead through the main gate, but using the fence. I, therefore, urge police to observe these traditions when returning my child’s body.”

“That’s because Masten died in my compound, and not outside the homestead,” he concluded.
