Monkey Kills One month old Baby in Tanzania

A one-month-old baby boy died in Tanzania on Tuesday 21st June after a monkey took him from his mother in Mwamgongo hamlet in Kigoma, near Gombe National Park.

Reports obtained by this publication have indicated that the infant was being breastfed by his mother when a swarm of monkeys broke into their home and found their way inside.

One of the monkeys is believed to have seized the baby during the event.

According to regional commander James Manyama, villagers used force to retrieve the infant.

The beast then lunged at the boy, killing him, according to the Tanzanian daily 'The Citizen'.

She screamed for help, and villagers rushed to her house to assist her in rescuing her child from the monkeys,' Mr Manyama said.

'He was injured in the head and neck when they tried to take him back by force.'

Citizens were asked to keep an eye out for the hazardous animals, according to police.

In a similar post in 2018 November, a12 days old baby was brutally killed after a monkey snatched it from his mother`s lap on the outskirts of Agra city in India.

Police reported indicated that the mother, Neha, was feeding Sunny around 8 p.m. on Monday when the monkey attacked them by pouncing on the baby in Kachhara area. Before the mother could react, the newborn was seen dangling from the monkey`s clutch as it jumped up the walls and vanished on the rooftop.

Efforts to lure the monkey with eaten goodies to bring the child down bore no fruits.

 "After a search we found the body bruised all over and rushed it to the hospital in Sikandra where the doctors declared him dead," a family member said.
