It is the dee day as Kenya heads to the ballot to choose the next government that will rule Kenya for the next 5years. Kenyans turned up in huge numbers to fulfill the August 9th General election bid.

This comes after on Tuesday, August 9, the night before the general election, Kenyans encouraged others to cast their votes by blowing whistles and vuvuzelas.


Youth were spotted on the streets late Tuesday morning as the lines swelled, and the sounds could be heard as early as 3 a.m. in different regions of the country.

However, the election process was a bit delayed in some polling stations.

 In the Ruaraka polling station in Babadogo secondary school, the polling station was opened at 6:00 Am but voting began at 6:20 AM. Some of the voters who had arrived earlier to finish up with the casting votes process became agitated.

In other news on Monday 8th, August an Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Official was arrested after being caught with election materials. Information sourced by Bright Kenya news indicated that the official was caught at a meeting with candidates in Webuye East Constituency, Bungoma County. 

Bungoma County IEBC Returning Officer Grace Rono confirmed the issue and told the public that the officers implicated in the election fraud have been replaced.
