Bungoma County IEBC Returning Officer Grace Rono confirmed the issue and told the public that the officers implicated in the election fraud have been replaced.

This comes after earlier on Monday 8th in Bungoma County, a police officer's gun vanished during a confrontation between an MCA candidate and locals.
The officer's pistol was taken from him by an unidentified person when he was trying to save Richard Chesome from his attackers.
Moses Wetangula, a senator from Bungoma, has denounced the event and urged locals to exercise greater caution during this election season.

Additionally, some voting materials were dispersed prematurely by an unruly mob on their way to polling stations in Chuka/Igambang'ombe sub-county.

In other news, UDA filed a petition on Monday 8th appealing the decision by High Court that ordered IEBC to use a printed voter register to identify voters in August 9 polls.

The party further argued that the integrity of General Elections is likely to be compromised since a manual register lacks safeguards for enhancing credibility.
