DCI Arrests Five People for Kidnapping A Man and Demanding Payment

DCI detectives from Parklands apprehended Joseph Makau, Patrick Wekesa, Rehema Njeri, Vigilance Mumbi, and Hadija Ong'ai.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mumbi, Ong'ai, and Njeri allegedly lured the man to a house in Ruaraka, held him hostage, and demanded Ksh100,000 to release him.

“With a special preference for men of caucasian origin, the women lure the smitten men to a house behind Ruaraka’s Naivas supermarket, with a promise of an action-packed night. What follows are demands for a ransom depending on how deep one’s pockets are,” the DCI revealed.

In Thursday's incident, members of a special team on the hunt for the 'babes' stormed the house where the victim was being held, hostage.

"They found him stark naked, as the five suspects eagerly waited for an Mpesa transaction of Sh100,000 to set the man free," DCI stated.

As suspects waited for a Mpesa transaction of Ksh 100,000, cyber forensic detectives stormed the house where the victim was being held, "the man had called his relatives claiming that he had been involved in a road accident and needed Sh100,000 for treatment."

According to detectives, the kidnapping gang is linked to an incident last month in Parklands in which a man was accosted and robbed of Ksh450,000.

“The man has since identified the suspects positively, as those who milked the cash from his bank account in a similar modus operandi,” the DCI added.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in court this morning to answer charges of armed robbery.
