According to the NMS statement, the public is invited to the event, which has been named the "Fireworks Extravaganza," and is set to take place between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Monday.

"It is notified for General information of the Public that there will be a Fireworks Extravaganza in Uhuru Park between 7-8 pm on 12th Monday in celebration of Commissioning of Uhuru & Central Park. Members of the public are advised to anticipate & enjoy the display," stated the notice.

The facilities provided by the green areas will include a plant nursery, skating rink, nature walk, outdoor library, jogging, and cycling trails, a maintenance yard, offices, and a shearer garden. Additionally, it will have a number of restaurants and luxury hotels.

In honor of Prof. Wangari Maathai, the landmark Nyayo statue, Mau Mau liberation fighter memorials, and a more clearly defined freedom corner have all been preserved.

NMS stated in a prior interview with Citizen Digital that the new appearance will have a modern garden with waterfronts.

The parks will also be completely fenced in and feature two gates, each of which will be guarded by officers from the General Service Unit (GSU), who will be on duty constantly.

Since September 2021, the two parks have been getting significant facelifts thanks to clearance from the Nairobi County Assembly.

The public was prohibited from accessing and the parks were closed when renovations at Uhuru and Central parks began in 2021.

The County Assembly had maintained that the parks would "lose their charm, historical relevance, and recognition" if they were left in their current condition.
