Spain 0-0 Portugal: Christiano Ronaldo Booed and Whistled Upon Madrid Return

The former Real Madrid striker was in Madrid with Portugal to play against Spain in the Pre-European Championship match and the fans present at Atletico Madrid’s Estadio Wanda Metropolitano were quick to remind him of where he was.

Even before the match began, Ronaldo's every move and touch was booed and whistled as they warmed up.

The fans who were in an unforgiving mood also aimed some harsh words towards the Spain manager, Luis Enrique, and striker Alvaro Morata.

“I don’t care”, Enrique said afterward. “He has killed himself tonight trying to press, and he has created a lot of danger.”

“They should stand and applaud when he runs 40 meters, sends the goalkeeper, and is unlucky enough to see his shot hit the crossbar. They can whistle me,  but I don’t like them doing it to the players,” Enrique added.
