The Swiss tennis star Stan Wawrinka has pulled out of Wimbledon open due to foot injury.

Wawrinka 36, underwent operation on his foot in March and has never fully recovered keeping him out of the ongoing French Open.

Wimbledon open is set to begin on 28 June to 11 July, 2021. The Grand Slam will be staged in All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. It is the 134th edition.

The Swiss national has never played in the competitive game since March 9, 2021 when he lost to Llyod Harris in the first round in Doha, Qatar. He has never worn the Wimbledon open only reaching to the quarters.

Wawrinka has won Australian Open (2014), French Open (2015) and US Open (2016).

His career breakthrough is when he was named the world number 3 by Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in 24 January, 2014 for the singles.
