Sonko Speaks After Court Okays Ann Kananu`s Swearing In

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has finally broken his silence after the Court of Appeal on Friday 22nd threw his case challenging the swearing-in of acting Governor Ann Kananu Mwenda.

According to Sonko he stated that he respects the Court of Appeal`s decision to clear the way for acting Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu to be sworn into office.

However, sonko added that there is still light at the end of the tunnel because he will lodge a complaint at the Court of Appeal. 

“There is no problem. My petition has been dismissed, but our case is still on. We shall be at the Court of Appeal in November,” Stated Sonko.

He also told his fans via his Twitter account never to worry but take advantage of president Uhuru Kenyatta lifting curfew and have fun.

"There's no problem with that. Let’s take advantage that the curfew has been vacated and have fun instead of dwelling on things that have already happened,” the ex-governor stated. 

His sentiments comes at a time Ann Kananu will now take an oath of Office On Wednesday 27th October as the new Nairobi`s Governor.

Upon Swearing-in she will rule until the next general elections, which are 10 months away.
