Security officials in Kisii County have opened an investigation into the incident.

County commissioner Allan Macharia stated that six police officers were hospitalized at separate hospitals in Kisii as a result of the event yet no arrest has been made concerning the incident

“The police are yet to make arrests, the incident is under investigation. I can report six of our officers were injured, and they are receiving treatment” said the County commissioner

He claimed that the area's security staff is adequately prepared for the upcoming elections

Macharia disputed charges made by lawmakers that some candidates were treated unfairly, claiming that all citizens, including the candidates, receive the same level of security.

Macharia urged parties to resolve disagreements amicably in order to ensure free, fair, and credible elections.

Macharia stated that the IEBC officers have been informed of the complaint and will proceed as he requested everyone to be calm.

He requested that decision-makers convene a roundtable to discuss and more effectively resolve their difficulties.
