Senator faces charges with attempted rape

Senator Mithika Linturi has allegedly been accused of raping a 36-year-old woman Maiyan Villas Hotel in Nanyuki at around 3 am this year on January 30, 2021. Allegedly he snuck into the couple's hotel room when the husband was outside and indecently touched the wife. He further faces a second charge of committing an indecent act with an adult contrary to section 11(A) of the Sexual Offences Act. He has pleaded not guilty on both charges on 14th September and he was released on Ksh.200,000 cash bail.
