A section of wiper party leaders has told off Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua over Raila’s Running mate position.

The Wiper leaders led by Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo, and Members of Parliament (MPs) Daniel Maanzo, Joshua Kimilu and Jesicah Mbalu the leaders said that the governor’s effiorts to be recognized as a national leader is not reasonable as per the current state.

Further according to the four leaders, the agreement between Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka is a done deal and Mutua’s demands of becoming Raila’s running mate is not recognized within the three-legged stool coalition.

On his part Mutula Kilonzo told off Mutua saying that he is fighting a losing battle adding that Kalonzo will be Raila’s running mate.

Mutula further added that Mutua was not Kalonzo equal matters relating to politics and therefore he should quit playing the political games.

Mutula, who is eyeing the Makueni Gubernatorial position was recently handed over a direct ticket by the Wiper party. 

Maanzo on his part said that Mutua is flipflopping accusing him of threatening to join Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Joshua Kimilu, upon taking the stage he criticked the three Ukambani governors after they threatened to leave the Azimio coalition and forming the Mwanzo Mpya Caucus adding that the three were not Kalonzo’s equals.

 Mbalu on her end told the Governor to stop what she termed as political prostitution and unnecessary threats.

Mutua had taken out to demand for the position of Raila’s running mate on Sunday saying that he was energetic and young enough for the position.

“I therefore, with the urging of my party members, present myself for consideration as the running mate for the position of the Deputy President to Jakom Raila Amolo Odinga.”  Part of Mutua’s statement read.

The Four Makueni county leaders spoke while attending a church service at AIC Kinyambu in Kibwezi East on Sunday.
