Rongo University on Thursday (today) suspended all its activities and even the examinations that had been set for April, asking all learners to vacate the institution.

The university management stated that the decision was in accordance with President Uhuru Kenyatta's recent directive that suspended all physical learning activities nationwide until further notice.

The institution's Vice-Chancellor revealed that efforts were being made to facilitate all learners affected by the lockdown with permits by the Migori county government.

The institution did not specify how long the closure may last. At the same time, VC Prof. Gudu further stated that plans were underway to introduce e-learning to compensate for the lost physical learning.
