Reactions Over CS Matiangi`s 'don't fall in love in police service' Warning
The internet was set Abalze on Friday 30th afternoon after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi issued a stun warning to men and women serving in the National Police Service from dating and marrying one another.
Kenyans are asking whether that's lawful and how the ban can prevent two adults from falling in love.
The CS has now asked the ministry to create rules stopping police officers from having intimate relations with colleagues to prevent cases of officer couples killing each other.
“We will adopt a system similar to that of the Kenya Defence Forces which bars the soldiers from getting into intimate relationships with their colleagues," he said.
"Moving forward, it will be illegal for a police officer to date or get married to a fellow law enforcement officer. If two police officers fall in love, then one has to leave the Service."
Below are comments and reactions from Kenyans on Twitter :
The Ostensible Move by Interior CS Fred Matiangi to ban intimate relationships within the Police Service is in bad taste.
The Interior Ministry needs to come up with Robust guidance and counseling mechanisms and not banning the same. It will be a short-term solution. pic.twitter.com/B6nLfrlb5b

This has to be the Weirdest thing I've read on the internet today. Does Interior CS Fred Matiangi know that Love has no boundaries? Some ideas are better left as mere thoughts
