A 28-year-old, John Ogweno, a detective attached to the crime office in Nakuru Central police station, was found dead this morning at Station's parking garage.

Nakuru East Deputy Sub County Police Commander Phantom Analo who confirmed the incident said the deceased was found at the parking lot of the Kasarani line area in his car by a colleague who immediately reported.

“At 0700 hours it was reported by one of our officers that while he was walking at the car park in Police line Kasarani, he saw a motor vehicle belonging to his colleague, with windows broken, and after peeping inside he saw the owner lying on the seat” Analo confirmed.

The Police report seen by the Bright Kenya News read;  Occurred on the night of 5/7/2021 at around 0230 Hrs at Kasarani Police line of Nakuru Police Station. One officer reported that today at around 0700 hrs he was walking at the car park when he found the Motor vehicle reg NO. KBV 735 U Make Toyota Corolla having its driver’s window screen broken and the engine running. He peeped inside and saw the car owner NO. 104550 PC JOHN OGWENO lying on the car seat with blood oozing from the nose.

“Police officers led by D/SCPC Nakuru East, SCCIO Nakuru East, and OCS Nakuru visited the scene and confirmed that the officer had passed on.”

Analo mentioned the matter has been taken for further investigation by the Director of Criminal Investigations.

“Right now, we are trying to investigate and come to the root of the cause of the death because we cannot say it was suicide. We suspect someone has done it because the driver’s window had been splashed with a stone to access the constable in the vehicle”  Analo added.
