This is after he had stated during the campaign periods that Ruto would be defeated in the August 9 polls.

The two said that Raila Odinga, Ruto's opponent, would win with 60% of the vote. Mucheru asserted that intelligence teams conducting a popularity survey prior to the elections on August 9 were the ones who released the data.

On his end, Munya was one of Ruto's fiercest detractors. The Agriculture CS traveled around the Mt. Kenya region to support Raila. But after taking office, Ruto reaffirmed his commitment to working with all other leaders to boost the economy and bring down living expenses.
