Man Killed and set on fire by Irate Mob over Death of 59 Year Old Woman

The man is alleged to be part of a gang that visited the homestead of the deceased woman and killed her before disappearing but was caught by the mob, brought to the scene, beaten,killed and later set on fire.

According to Marumbasi sublocation Assistant Chief Emmanuel Kibet, there has been rampant insecurity cases in the area and this could have tempted the gang to visit the homestead of the deceased, a primary school teacher whom Bright Kenya News reporter identified her as Liza.

The deceased  woman could have known one of the gang members , an act that might have led to her death  as a way of concealing the evidence.

“ We have received reports of the death of a 59 year old woman. While on our way to the scene, the members of the public had already been captured ,killed and set on fire by the angry mob before Sosiot based police officers could reach the crime scene. The suspect is a 30 year old man, named Bernard Chepkwony alias, Chemosi,’’ Said Kibet

The Assistant Chief cautioned the public against taking the law into their hands and let the investigating and security officers carry out their duties and arrest culprits when such cases occur.

The body of the woman has been taken to Sigowet Mortuary as investigations continue to bring the perpetrators involved  to book.
