Liverpool and Manchester City clashed in a battle of the ages as both teams displayed a scintillating display in a 2-2 draw at Anfield.

In a clash pertaining last two Premier league title holders, the match was destined for greatness ever since the get-go. Man City persevered Liverpool's early press and went on to dominate possession. Bernado Silva was a sight to behold throughout the match and early in the game he glided by avoiding challenges by Liverpool players to tee up Phil Foden who saw his effort saved by Reds shot stopper Allison Becker. The England international spelt trouble for Liverpool defence and moments later he picked up Kevin De Bruyne at the back post with a wonderful cross but Belgium playmaker came in too early resulting to his header being powered over the bar.

Liverpool got their gears in check and Egyptian Pharaoh Mo Salah skipped past City's Portuguese fullback Joao Cancelo and slid it in to fellow forward Sadio Manè who slotted it home past Brazilian keeper Ederson. 

James Milner( Liverpool's make shift Right Back) had been targeted multiple times in the game and it finally bore fruit. Guardiola's men levelled when Gabriel Jesus picked up Phil Foden who's low hard effort  beat Allison. The goal meant that he has now scored thrice in the last 3 outings against the Reds.

City's happiness didn't last long as Mo Salah skipped past 3 City players (Bernado Silva, Cancelo and Laporte) before finishing with his weaker right foot. The Egyptian striker has now scored in seven consecutive games.

The goal only separated the two for 5 mins as Phil Foden turned to provider picking out Kevin De Bruyne at the edge of the area and the Belgian's shot was deflected by Joel Matip into the back of his own net.

The result leaves Jurgen Klopp's men unbeaten in 17 games, the longest run in the England top 4 divisions while City rediscovered their scoring touch after their mid-week loss to PSG. A win would have ended the 84 year drought of back-to-back league wins.
