Kericho County Injects Ksh. 46.8 Million towards Oxygen Plant Construction

Kericho County has injected Ksh. 46.8 million towards the construction of the County Oxygen plant at Kericho County Referral Hospital.

Kericho Deputy Governor  H.E.Lily Ng'ok announced this while presiding over the groundbreaking,laying a foundation stone  ceremony paving way for the start of the construction and installation works expected to be complete within the next six months.

The World Bank funded project, upon its completion and operation, will produce 350 litres of Oxygen per minute and will be a boost to Kericho County Referral hospital that serve the residents of Kericho  and its neighboring Counties.

“ We have today laid a foundation to one of the County's biggest projects, an oxygen plant that will produce the required oxygen for the benefit of the citizens and their health,'' said Lily Ng’ok  .

According to the Chief Officer in charge of Health Services, Dr.David Ekuwam, the plant will significantly reduce the turnaround time for procuring and delivery of oxygen from 24 hours to less than one hour.

‘ This is a great plant that will be of assistance in efficiency  and effectiveness of oxygen production that will reduce the turnaround  time’’ said Ekuwam 

The generated oxygen will also be distributed to all the County health facilities, private hospitals within Kericho County,  so the facilities benefit from the availability of oxygen  to assist patients in their facilities.
