In a fit of rage, the officer is said to have shot at Wycliffe Atendo after the rider dropped his daughter off at home on Thursday evening.

The operator had received a request from a client to drop her off at the White House estate in Syokimau, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Atendo met the client, a 21-year-old woman, outside a pharmacy on Kimathi street and drove her the 20 kilometers.

When he arrived at his destination, a man rushed out of the gate and began beating him.

"The duo arrived at the agreed address and as the woman was about to pay him, a man quickly emerged from the gate and gave her a beating like a rented mule, before showing her into the compound,"  the DCI revealed.

The officer then drew his pistol and fired at the victim. He, on the other hand, escaped unharmed.

"As the nduthi man pondered his next move, the enraged man whipped out a firearm and fired at him instead, making him flee the scene for dear life," the DCI stated.

The rider then went to the Syokimau police station and filed a complaint.
