Infotrak: Raila Leads in Popularity with 42%

According to the new poll by InfoTrak, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga would beat his Kenya Kwanza counterpart William Ruto if elections were held today.

In the data released on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga leads with 42 per cent, with Ruto coming second with 38 per cent.

The polling firm says the ODM leader would garner 9.3 million votes and Ruto 8.4 million votes.

"We conducted the poll between May 27 and May 29, and had 9,000 interviews carried out in all the 47 counties. It also said 290 constituencies were covered with a margin of + or - 1," Infotrak Research CEO Angela Ambitho told journalists.

"Ruto dropped in popularity after naming Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate, while Raila maintained his 42%."

The two candidates are the front runners in the polls slated for August 9.
