Five people have been confirmed dead in Meru county following a bandit attack that happened along the Meru-Isiolo border.

According to a police report, the five people have been reported dead after bandits raided the Tiania district in Meru County, near the Meru-Isiolo border.
The early Tuesday incident, according to police, resulted in the deaths of some people and the beheading of others.
Residents in the region who protested the police taking the bodies of the deceased said they had tried unsuccessfully to improve security in the area.
