The family of the third and retired Commander-in-Chief Mwai Kibaki has denied rumors doing rounds that he is currently undergoing medication at a City's health facility.

The former president's personal assistant Ngari Gituku stated that the latter only attends routine check-ups and therefore the claims were unfounded.

"The retired President has not been admitted to any hospital," stated Mr. Gituku, adding that such reports always arise whenever the former president visits for the check-ups.

Previously, Mr. Gituku revealed that Kibaki always visits the hospital once or twice a month, for health check-ups. Unverified sources had alleged that Kibaki could be among VIPs currently receiving medical attention at the Nairobi Hospital.

A local daily had stated that Kibaki was ailing from issues related to blood pressure. In June last year, the former state's head was reportedly admitted and discharged after developing abdominal pains.
