Citizen Digital Apologizes to Senator Kang'ata

Citizen has issued an apology to Murang`a Senator Irungu Kanga`ata amid the viral video that purported that he was in a bar during a House session.

Citizen Digital took to their Twitter account on Thursday 16th September apologizing to the lawmaker over the video stating that the video was manipulated.

“We apologize for sharing a video purported to be from a Senate session where Murang’a Senator, Irungu Kang'ata, was alleged to have logged in from a bar."

"We have since established that the video had been manipulated. Here is the real video," Citizen Digital wrote while sharing the original video.

Their apology comes barely a day after the star newspaper had also sought an apology from Kanga`ta and members of the public over the same.

"We apologize for a video posted of Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata logging in to Senate proceedings allegedly from the bar, we have since established that the video clip was manipulated," Stated the star.

Kang'ata requested Speaker Ken Lusaka on Wednesday to take serious action against the four media outlets.

Mutula Kilonzo Jr, a Makueni Senator, also demanded that the media outlets that publicized the bogus film be punished and asked the Speaker to request that the national broadcaster, KBC, reveal the true tape.
