Health CS, Mutahi Kagwe on Friday, May 6 reported two deaths linked to the Kamkunji Cholera outbreak.

In his report, he as well confirmed that 19 patients were hospitalized with Cholera-like symptoms calling the residents to be more cautious and maintain a high standard of hygiene.

The report comes a few hours after his officials noted that there was an outbreak in Kamkunji, Nairobi County.

Area Member of Parliament, Yusuf Hassan who visited Motherland informal settlement in Eastleigh southward yesterday, called upon the Nairobi Metropolitan Services and the Government to move swiftly to address the problem of sewage bursts and uncollected garbage which seem to be the root cause.

He reiterated that the safety and health of Kamukunji residents should be a priority for the concerned sectors in government.

Kamukunji Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya, one of the seventeen constituencies of Nairobi County.
