The clash of Titans as Liverpool host Chelsea.

Chelsea will be visiting Liverpool at Anfield for their third round of the EPL. Both teams won their opening games and a win or a draw for either will not have as much impact since the season is still young. Liverpool will be having their First major challenge while Chelsea will be having their second in a raw after playing Arsenal last weekend. The red will be looking forward to avenge their home humiliation by Chelsea in the same venue. Will the Reds beat the psyched up Blues?

The clash of Titans as Liverpool host Chelsea.

The Reds will be hosting the London blues today at Anfield on the third round of the EPL. Both clubs won their opening games and Liverpool is position 2 while Chelsea is on 3rd position. Out of 67 duel between these two teams, the Reds won 23 games, the Blues won 27 games and 17 ended in a draw. A total of 7 games have been played between April 2019 and March 2021 between the two with the host winning 4, Chelsea winning 2 and a draw at 90 minutes.

A loss for either teams would probably see the loser drop to position 8 or 9 depending on the performance of the teams below them. The season is still on its early stages and hence, whatever the outcomes might be, it would not disqualify either of them from competing for the top position. Both teams are in form and therefore, anything is possible.

Liverpool are likely to push for a win owing to home advantage while a win or draw for Frank Lampard is a blessing in disguise. The Blues victory over Arsenal boasted their confidence as well as the presence of Lukaku. Today’s game will be Red’s first major challenge and after losing to the Blues at Anfield last season, they wont let go of the insult so easily. Liverpool will miss the services of James Millner, while Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Robertson will possibly make a start. Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic will miss out on the crash while Ngolo Kante and Hakim Ziyech are expected to start.
