Senator Kang`ata Demands Apology From 4 Media Stations Amid ‘Brothel’ Viral Video

Senator Irungu Kang'ata of Murang'a has demanded an apology from Citizen Digital, Kameme FM, and K24 for publishing a bogus video on their social media pages or face being sued for defamation.

This comes after the stations released a video saying that Kang'ata was barred from speaking before the Senate by Speaker Ken Lusaka because he was supposedly at the Brothel, a city tavern.

According to Kang`ata the video was altered and manipulated to create the impression that he was in a bar which painted a bad picture of dragging him to the mud.

In his statement posted on his social media walls, he threatened that he would be seeking hefty damages if the media houses failed to make a public apology.

"Citizen digitalKameme FM and K24 should follow suit (referring to the Star Newspaper), otherwise we meet in court for a suit seeking hefty damages await," reads the statement.

This post forced the star newspaper to apologize to the public station that the video they posted was manipulated.

"We apologize for a video posted of Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata logging in to Senate proceedings allegedly from the bar, we have since established that the video clip was manipulated," Stated the star.
