Ronald Koeman during a past La Liga match. The Dutchman has been relieved off duties following last night's loss to Rayo Vallecano.
A Radamel Falcao goal was enough to convince Barcelona to end Koemans misery as he was sacked just hours after the match.

Barca have been in abysmal form collecting just 15 points from 10 La Liga outings and already lost twice in this year's Group stages of the Champions League.
Barca currently sit ninth, six points adrift of the joint leaders. The loss was Barca's third in the last 4 outings.

Former Spanish maestro and club legend Xavi who os currently manager of Qatari side Al Sadd, is the favourite to take the job as per reknown Italian Football Journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Xavi has an exit clause and it is understood that he wants the Barcelona job. Barca are prepared to launch a bid to pay for the services of the 41-year-old to take charge at the Camp Nou.

Last night's loss means that this is the first time since September 1987 that Barca have lost 3 consecutive away games without scoring.
Ronald Koeman did taste an ounce of success as he won the Copa Del Rey at the end of his first season but finished 3rd behind Madrid duo Real and Atletico with the lowest point tally since 2008.
Koeman bit the dust the same day as former Barca President Josep Maria Bartomeu with the timeline being a difference of one year( Bartomeu resigned on Oct 27 2020 while Koeman got the sack on Oct 27 2021).
