Less than 48 hours after Kenya's Sports Cabinet Secretary, Amina Mohammed announced the removal of Football Kenya Federation officials led by the president, Nick Mwendwa, and Appointed a caretaker committee. The world football governing body has stepped in an official letter in response to the actions of the CS.

FIFA's response emphasizes the independence of FIFA member associations such as FKF as provided in the statutes and the risk posed in case of a breach, especially by the government. Therefore, if the Cabinet Secretary's decision to disband FKF and appoint a caretaker committee is upheld, the matters at hand will be submitted to the Bureau of FIFA Council for consideration and decision.
This comes after FKF released a statement opposing the decision for its disbandment in a letter to the press. Chad is the latest country to face FIFA sanctions over interference by the Chadian government with the Chadian Football Federation.
