The nomination was announced by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.

The head of state picked retired KDF Colonel Alfred Mshimba and Dr. Monica Wanjiru and submitted their names to Parliament for vetting.

The nominations come a month after Dabar Abdi Malim and Rose Macharia tendered their resignation on September 1 in a letter addressed to the president.

Mshimba will be the latest in a long line of military men appointed by President Kenyatta to lead vital civilian institutions if his nomination is granted.

He will work alongside EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak, who previously served in the Kuwaiti Defense Forces.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) shortlisted 21 candidates for the two commissioner positions that became vacant after the resignation of two commissioners on September 22.
