In Kakamega County, a police officer from Shianda Police Station was arrested on Friday for having 55 rolls of bhang.

After searching the suspect's vehicle, authorities discovered the narcotic material secreted in a bag.

The saloon car had been parked in the middle of the road at Shibuli trading center for some time, prompting the members of the public to contact authorities.

It was then that the police officers arrived on the scene.

They found a man who appeared inebriated seated in the car and asked him to exit the vehicle.

After interrogation, they discovered that the man was a cop.

“On further questioning, it was established that the said officer is stationed at Shianda Police Station in Mumias East Subcounty,” a police report read.

The police say that the suspect was apprehended and transported to the Kakamega Police Station, where he was booked for being in possession of narcotics.

His car was seized and is being held at the station.
