In 2020, a tragedy was announced after school kids died. The reports recieved claimed that after the bell rang, the kidstrampled everywhere on their way from school. However,the heavy commotion along the staies led to some children falling off and being stepped on.
The school`s narrow staircase made it worse for the children to fit. Some reports had it that ateacher had the kids running. Some children had reported that they had been barred from using one of the two starecases.
After the incident, 15 students were confirmed dead and some with serious injuries taken to local hospitals.The county government of Kakamega had given directives for compensation for the losses. On new reports, the parents will now receive Ksh.1.25 million each.
The announcement has aroused a lot of questions as to how the fund would help the parents and why it has been done at this time. However, some people were happy for the move and praised the ruling
