The midfielder appeared to have taken a bang on the thigh during a challenge with Fernandinho during a training session at Estadio Do Dragao.

Gundogan who is the club’s top scorer has been a crucial cog in Guardiola’s midfield this year. Ilkay is also the only player in the squad to have played in this final before when with Borussia Dortmund but they lost to Bayern Munich at Wembley Stadium in 2013.

Guardiola called for his players to hold their nerves when they will be facing The Blues and he believes they will need to play streetwise football.

According to Manchester City manager, “Everyone wants to win but sometimes you have to adapt to the circumstances.”

“Some players go out and have more pressure and tension. You have to handle it. We’ll have to suffer to win. Most times in the final you have to suffer, adjust to the game, and at the end try to be ourselves and try to do a good game,” added Guardiola.
