Looming Ruto-Oparanya Alliance Raises Political Eyebrows

Oparanya has in recent times met with Ruto in secret meetings held in Narok hotels which led to the perception that the second in Command is courting him so he can be his running mate come 2022 general elections.

DP Ruto has openly accepted the meeting with the Kakamega Governor who is also the deputy party leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The relation between Ruto and Oparanya has in the recent past grown immensely which signifies their intentions to work together ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.

The series of meetings held both in public and private between the two leaders sort to strengthen their ties, an alliance that could leave the Mt. Kenya region clinging onto the short end of the stick in DP Ruto’s game plan.

Political analysts have recently stated that Governor Oparanya has lately been very measured when criticizing anything that involves Ruto.

DP Ruto secretly met with Oparanya at the Olare Motorogi Conservancy on Thursday, April 8th, 2021 where is said they discussed more on their alliance.

Although Oparanya was reluctant to share the details of the meeting, he hinted that DP wanted them to form an alliance predicting that UDA and ODM could work together in the future.
