The secretary also confirmed the president's determination to meet evacuation deadlines as agreed with the Taliban and has ordered commanders on the ground to increase efforts to protect their interests. These statements were also confirmed by two U.S. officials, who told Reuters that evacuations are now of optimum priority. This event comes after the president warned of an impending attack on the airport.
