Jitters in Charles Keter’s Camp After He stormed Out of UDA Aspirants’ Meeting
Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter left his supporters in awe today after storming out of the United Democratic Alliance { UDA} aspirants meeting held in Kericho Day Secondary School after his political rival Dr. Eric Mutai entered the venue amid cheers and escorts from the crowd that was present.
According to one of the attendees, Charles Keter arrived earlier in the meeting accompanied by his team and sat comfortably before his competitor Dr Eric Mutai made a triumphant entry and got a huge reception and chants of “equalizer” from the crowd.
The reception and cheers of opponent Dr. Mutai did not sit well with Keter who left the meeting prematurely and in what Kericho political analysts described it as a desperate move to avoid further humiliation.
One of the residents whom Bright Kenya News interviewed said that Keter was a once good candidate but he is surrounded by self centered brokers who are not friendly and rude to the residents and scare away voters.
“ Charles is a good leader but he is surrounded by crooks who are good for nothing and are misadvising the former CS . Today we expected him to attend the meeting without the same brokers we know, but still keep them together to continue plunging him and losing touch with the electorate,’’ said a resident who did not want to be mentioned.
A showdown is looming ahead of the UDA primaries next with the party hoping to hold a peaceful nomination ahead of general elections.
